Advancing Computing and Technology Interest and InnoVation through Teacher Education (ACTIVATE)

With a grant from the  National Science Foundation,The School of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University launched a series of free workshops, Advancing Computing and Technology Interest and InnoVation through Teacher Education (ACTIVATE), for teacher development in computational thinking. ACTIVATE was designed to help Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) teachers increase student understanding of computational principles and increase awareness of the relevance of computer science in their education.This project targeted teachers in the Appalachian Region, of western Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and eastern Ohio.
