University of Pittsburgh: CISE Pathways to Revitalized Undergraduate Education in Computing

From 2011 to 2012 CEAC partnered with the CISE Pathways to Revitalized Undergraduate Education in Computing (CPATH) program to evaluate the learning outcomes of undergraduate students in the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at University of Pittsburgh. CPATH’s general project goal is to strengthen computational concepts, methods, and tools in the undergraduate education of health science students. The program components use highly relevant health science course modules, updated curricula, student internships, senior projects and other activities. More specifically, the goals of the CPATH are 1) create future leaders with expertise in health science and computing; 2) integrate research into undergraduate education; 3) increase high school students’ interest in pursuing a career in health science; and, 4) promote partnerships between faculty members across different disciplines.
